The benefits of fracking far outweigh its costs not only economically, but environmentally, a Stanford University geophysicist said Friday.

Not only are there many career opportunities for veterans in the energy industry, but these brave men and women are also uniquely positioned to help advance our country's national security by highlighting the crucial need for sound energy policies.

"There's help wanted in just about every window... There are tons and tons of jobs out here. Social work, retail, manufacturing, information technology, energy, customer service, teaching, agriculture."

Our strong energy sector is part of what makes our economy so dynamic. It gives us a competitive edge, and doesn't allow foreign actors like Russia and OPEC to use their vast energy supplies as a political weapon.
