August 19, 2016
Commander-in-Chief of Veterans of Foreign Wars Richard DeNoyer joined Boston Herald Radio yesterday to talk about Vets4Energy.
Q: What is Vets For Energy?
A: It's a national group of veterans... essentially we all gather together because we believe in a strong energy policy for our country, which actually, believe it or not, includes renewable energies as well as gas and oil. However, the renewables haven't got to the point where they can really satisfy the energy requirement in this country, therefore we believe we need to enhance our development of gas and oil for a couple of reasons - for one of the reasons being national security, national defense and also for economic reasons.
Q: Are you in favor of fracking?
A: Yes, we are because it has actually gotten us off our dependency on coal, which obviously pollutes, and gas is a cleaner way to naturally heat our homes ... I think the statistics show that it has improved our energy supply in this country.
Q: What’s your take on Donald Trump’s focus on coal miners losing their jobs?
