The below statement is from Rear Admiral Don Loren, USN (ret.), National Liaison for Vets4Energy:

Vets4Energy heartily endorses President Trump’s Executive action today on the Keystone XL Pipeline and the Dakota Access Pipeline. 

These projects represent a commitment by the Administration to make America more energy secure.  Energy resources and the infrastructure to transport those resources to market are the backbone of a national energy policy that can make America closer to energy self-sufficiency than ever before.
 
Our national security is critically linked to our energy independence. By producing more of our energy here at home, we reduce the need to depend on nations that do not have America’s
best interests at heart, and significantly lessen the requirement for America’s military to safeguard the transport of oil globally.

America is an energy superpower, and we must continue to make wise energy policy decisions that promote our national security, strengthen our economy, meet our nation’s energy needs, provide employment opportunities (particularly our veterans) and furthers our energy independence.
 
Today’s action by the President is just the first of what we hope will be a continuing endorsement of America’s energy potential and the jobs and security it will produce.
