Vets4Energy participated in the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) National Convention, which brings together leaders and veterans who have been awarded the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat.

Vets4Energy National Liaison Rear Admiral Don Loren, USN (ret.) addressed the attendees, with Vets4Energy Program Director, Capt. James McCormick, who himself, has been awarded 3 Purple Heart Medals.

Vets4Energy was able to deliver the message that a certain way to secure America is to implement sound energy policies that build upon our nation’s energy leadership and self-sufficiency.  The message was well-received and resulted in several new veterans volunteeering to join Vets4Energy, including Hershel "Woody" Williams, the last-surviving Medal of Honor Recipient from the Battle of Iwo Jima.
