Veterans know how essential energy really is
August 27, 2014
From Vets4Energy volunteer, Colonel William E., USAF (ret.):
Veterans know how essential it is to become energy independent when a crisis that needs to be quelled.
We can’t depend on shaky relationships with people that we might be fighting against. It’s the veterans who have kept us free for the last 100 years. It is the veterans who have given their lives, lost limbs, eyesight, and mental acuity because they said “send me” in times of crisis.
The hundreds of thousands of veterans of this country are intimately aware of the billions of dollars being spent on importing petroleum when we could be producing it ourselves. They are also among the thousands that are being put out of work due the government closing down coal mines and coal fired electric plants.
I speak to veterans every day who can’t understand why the government continues to spend billions importing oil when we can produce it ourselves.
