State of America's Energy - 2018
January 10, 2018
A message from Capt. James McCormick, USA (ret.) - updated January 10, 2018.
On January 9th, American Petroleum Institute (API) President and CEO Jack Gerard will gave his annual State of American Energy address.
I want to encourage all Veterans to watch the "Power Past Impossible" video, and speech given by Mr. Gerard, to aid in their understanding of the current state of the American energy industry, plans for future, and why it is so important to be fully engaged in this subject with Vets4Energy.
You can watch the presentation here.
As veterans, we have a unique voice and opportunity to educate the public as to why American produced energy is so very important and how it relates to national security. This country needs to have leaders to bring this topic to them, and as a veteran, you have the creditability to move these issues forward.
Although not every veteran has had "boots on the ground" in the Middle East, we've all stood willing to serve and sacrifice to ensure American security. Our countrymen do not have the same exposure to the facts related to these wars or the clear picture of why American excellence make us the preferred choice for energy development and production.
American companies produce energy much safer than those in the Middle East, as related to both the environment and human safety. We can provide energy for ourselves and our allies so that we are not fighting wars over resources, or held by world energy markets controlled by those who do not support the American dream.
Watch (or read via PDF) Mr. Gerard's speech. It provides solid information you can use for educating other veterans on why energy security directly impacts national security and our way of life.
As always, thank you for continuing to serve your country.
Capt.McCormick, USA (ret.)
