Phil P., US Army: Get Serious About Energy Independence
September 4, 2014
Phil C., US Army veteran, Virginia:
The U.S. needs to get serious about energy independence and our National Security! We can no longer rely on imports from foreign countries; especially those hostile to the U.S. As we witness daily, the world geopolitical climate is volatile at best. It demonstrates that that we need to leverage our internal resources now and substantially reduce our dependence.
While we develop our long-term energy strategy, we need to also act tactically and in our self-interest. We need to deliver on the Keystone pipeline, start drilling in the Arctic and on the outer continental shelf. While at the same time investing in alternative energy sources. I know there are no short cuts but doing nothing is not the answer!
