Rear Admiral Loren spoke to the annual gathering of American Legion state post commanders and American Legion senior leadership, which totaled more than 100 guests. He addressed the importance of energy security to our country and how it relates to national security. He enjoined the American Legion and all veterans to be strong advocates of sound energy policies that promote our national security and support veteran employment. There was particular interest in veteran employment opportunities in the petroleum industry, and the impact of energy policies on military readiness.

Following the Admiral's speech, Vets4Energy hosted a reception for the American Legion leadership, where Admiral Loren answered questions about the program and his remarks. All who attended expressed concern for our energy policies, the readiness of our military and veteran employment. They also expressed appreciation for bringing this message to the Michigan veteran community.
