Carl C., US Army, Concerned About Energy Policy

August 29, 2014

Carl E., US Army (ret.), North Dakota:

My major concerns with the current administration's lack of a cohesive energy policy is just that. They don't seem to have a policy in place that they are willing to let anyone know about.  It seems to me that they like it this way because then they can claim to be right all the time and not have to defend anything.

As for why veterans should be involved -- and active -- in energy policy... Just look back at the reasons we went into Iraq.  One of the biggest was to defend a steady supply of crude oil from the Middle East. Look at how many members of our military lost their lives defending oil.  And then stop and realize that with a comprehensive energy policy the chances of us going to war over Middle East oil would be lowered.
