Another take on seismic testing

Published in Post and Courier in South Carolina:

An April 3 editorial claimed that seismic testing used in offshore drilling will “disrupt the feeding and mating of mammals and fish.”

That’s not what the experts say. According to the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, there is “no documented scientific evidence of noise from seismic activities adversely affecting marine animal populations.”

The agency’s chief environmental officer says that claims suggesting otherwise about this globally used technology are “wildly exaggerated.”
