Stephen McCloskey, Specialist, USA
Stephen McCloskey served 8 years in the United States Army, deploying with his unit for 3 tours in Iraq. He earned the rank of Specialist before being honorably discharged in September of 2011.
While on active duty Stephen served as a Fire Direction Control Specialist; Forward Observer, FOB Courage Base NCOIC, Prisoner Expeditor, Private Security Force for Criminal Investigation Department, Training Room NCOIC, Team Leader and a sponsor for other soldiers going through the Warrior Leadership Course.
He earned multiple awards and decorations including the Combat Action Badge, Drivers Badge, Sharp Shooter Marksman Badge, Airborne Badge, Air Assault Badge, 5 Army Commendation Medals, 2 Good Conduct Medals, 5 Iraq Campaign Stars, Army NCO Professional Development Ribbon and several Combat Stripes.
Mr. McCloskey attended Canisius College where he aggressively aided in the expansion of the veteran lounge on campus before he transferred to another school. Mr. McCloskey has earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies from Erie Community College and is the member in several Honor Societies. He is involved in the program for Legal Studies at the University at Buffalo.
Stephen was unanimously chosen by the Board of Directors as President of the Alpha & Omega Retreat, Inc. His goal is to remove barriers and assist Veterans with their transition back into civilian life.
Stephen believes that the values and honor instilled into our soldiers is an asset to our community.
