Q. What branch of the military did you serve under? What was your position in the military?
A. The U.S. Marine Corps and I served as the Aviation Precision and Maintenance Calibration Chief.
Q. What were your responsibilities in the military?
A. As an Aviation Precision and Measurement Calibration Chief, I repaired, maintained and calibrated all Marine Corps Rotary Wing platforms and F/A18 platforms in addition to supervising all calibration technicians assigned to the calibration laboratory. During my time in the Marine Corps, I served in various other roles in which my primary responsibilities focused on avionics.
Q. What is your current position?
A. Production Engineering Technician at Marathon Oil Company.
Q. Serving in the military provides great leadership skills. Beyond that, what skills and experiences did you learn in the military that enable you to be successful on the job?
A. The Marine Corps instilled a work ethic and sense of self pride and confidence to accomplish any given task. I have a strong initiative to accomplish directed team goals and self-set goals and perform every task with the utmost integrity which has led me to be successful on the job. I am very comfortable working in a high stress environment and greatly value the synergies of working on a team.
Q. Did you use the benefits of the GI Bill to enhance your education?
A. Yes, I completed a bachelor's degree in aeronautics and I am currently pursuing a master's degree in business administration.
