Q. What branch of the military did you serve under? What was your position in the military?A. I served as an Engineer Commissioned Officer in the Army. I was initially assigned as the platoon leader of a Signal Platoon in a Signal Company for about 3 months. Then I served as the Assault & Obstacle (A&O) Platoon in a Combat Engineer Company for about a year. After that, I served as the Signal Officer on a Battalion Staff before we went to Iraq.

Q. What were your responsibilities in the military?
A. In Iraq I spent the majority of my time overseeing rebuilding project for the Iraqi Army and for some civilian projects.

Q. What is your current position?
A. I'm the Louisiana District Engineer for ConocoPhillips.

Q. Serving in the military provides great leadership skills. Beyond that, what skills and experiences did you learn in the military that enable you to be successful on the job?
A. My experiences in Iraq while overseeing some of the rebuilding projects for the Iraqi Army and government has been helpful with some of my current projects. I have been able to apply the time management, critical thinking, and coordination skills that I learned while in Iraq to my everyday task that I perform today in my current position.

Q. Did you use the benefits of the GI Bill to enhance your education?
A. No.
