Michael Wherry, Lieutenant, USN (ret.)
Lieutenant Michael Scott Wherry served as an officer in the U.S. Navy overseeing operations on the fast attack submarine U.S.S. Indianapolis, stationed at Pearl Harbor. He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and worked as a Production Supervisor at BASF Chemical in Illinois; and later earned a law degree from Indiana University. Lieutenant Wherry currently serves as a patent and trademark attorney, advising Hoosiers who are starting new businesses about how to protect intellectual property. He also conducts legal work in the area of energy, and volunteers at The Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic in Indianapolis.
