Deryl McCarty, Col, USAF
Colonel McCarty served 30 years in the Air Force in both staff and unit leadership roles all over the world, providing research, policy analysis and development, policy presentation and integration/coordination among local, national and international staffs, and negotiating on behalf of the Air Force, Department of State, international NGO/UN staffs and foreign governments. He served as Aircraft Maintenance Officer for 23 years at all USAF levels, detachment through Headquarters; as Director of Logistics with Headquarters, Operation PROVIDE COMFORT/NORTHERN WATCH (USEUCOM); Director of Logistics with US Logistics Group (USAFE) Headquarters, Jt. US Military Mission for Aid to Turkey (USEUCOM); Director of Plans and Negotiations with Headquarters, Sixteenth Air Force (USAFE) in Aviano AB, Italy; Deputy Director of Logistics with Headquarters, U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) in Ramstein AB, Germany; and as Director of Logistics – RODEO 1996 and Director, McChord’s 50th Anniversary Staff with the 62nd Airlift Wing (AMC) at McChord AFB, WA. Upon retirement, he has served in a variety of volunteer and public service capacities, including as Republican Party Washington State Committeeman, State Party Executive Board member, county Vice Chairman and Secretary; Chief Deputy Auditor for Pierce County, Campaign Manager, Legislative Assistant, County Planning Commissioner, County Redistricting Commissioner, and as County Land Use Advisory Commissioner (and Commission Chairman). He is currently the Pierce County Republican Party Chairman and owner and partner of a small business which provides computer services.
